Don Wood:

Age 58

Diagnosed with IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) April 2010.  There is no known cause, treatment, or cure.  I was stable for three years.  However, in the spring of 2013 my condition began to deteriorate rapidly.  I am on increased oxygen and it's difficult to breathe much of the time.  I also have severe coughing/choking attacks.  My pulmonologist recommends a lung transplant to save my life.  I have signed the consent form and am in the process of having extensive tests to determine where I will be on the transplant list. In addition to his condition Don has continued to work out at the fitness center 4-5 times a week the past three years to keep in shape.  He has been using oxygen to exercise and do yard work since he was diagnosed.  However, now he’s on oxygen all the time, but he still works out at the fitness center.
